A Makeover for the Home and Heart

Recently, Joanna Goddard from the super popular A Cup of Jo blog did a home makeover for her sister Lucy that was not only stunning, but incredibly touching. After the loss of her husband Paul to lung cancer, Lucy wanted to give the home they had shared together the feel of a fresh, new beginning. A place where she could start to build new memories with her daughter, and we were honored to provide the custom framing.

Cup of Jo Makeover

With the help of interior designer Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook and Juniper Studio, her home was transformed to a lighter, brighter space that immediately calms, relaxes and soothes, while simultaneously uplifting your spirit. Below, find all of the stunning before and after images photographed by Julia Robbs for Cup of Jo and styled by Kendra Smoot.

The white paint with the neutral and pale blue couches immediately brightens and opens up the space. That epic bookcase was DIY, and for the details on just how they did it read the full post on Cup of Jo. Above the cornflower blue couch on the freshly brightened walls is the Love print by Max Wanger custom framed in our natural wood gallery frame.

Noticing a trend? If you want to go bright and light, lean towards white on white. The dining room looks completely transformed, and you can never go wrong with large artwork as a statement piece. They chose Grass by Brooke Schwab in our white gallery frame and offset it with the smaller Pink Wall print by Madelon Verdoorn in our custom natural wood gallery frame, both via Eventide Collective.

That warm blush tone on the walls paired with the coral bed frame makes you feel immediately transported to a fresh, crisp, happy place. Sail is the focal piece by Kati Dimoff from Eventide Collective and is custom framed in our white gallery frame.

These images are only the tip of the iceberg in this moving and transformative home makeover. For the full overhaul check out the post on A Cup of Jo.
