by Blue Myers
Pressed buttercups (Ranunculus sp.) surface against torn strips of cyanotype paper — yellow blooms held in the blue, the torn edges of earlier prints becoming part of the composition. The piece reads as both botanical record and collage, the paper itself a material rather than just a ground. Cyanotype is a historical photographic printing process that uses UV light to expose plant material directly onto coated paper, producing a distinctive Prussian blue tone. This piece extends the process into collage: printed cyanotype paper is cut and layered to build depth. Limited edition of 500
