Keeper of Wishes
by Blue Myers
A crab spider presides over a composition of dandelions in various stages. The Keeper of Wishes carries the folk tradition of dandelion wishes: the spider, in its stillness, becomes the keeper of those seeds and the desires they carry. This piece began with cyanotype prints of actual dandelions and stems, arranged and collaged directly onto paper. Cyanotype is a historical photographic printing process that uses UV light to expose plant material directly onto coated paper. The physical collage was then photographed and finished digitally, with the ornate spider added to anchor the composition and complete the narrative. The result merges handmade and digital processes. Limited edition of 500.
