Meadowhawks
by Blue Myers
Created through cyanotype printing, collage, and digital finishing, this work layers three ecosystems: wind-dispersed maple seeds, a freshwater landscape, and meadowhawk dragonflies and other insects in flight. Meadowhawks are wetland predators—their presence signals healthy water systems. The composition positions them within their habitat: riparian zones where water meets forest. The full moon references the lunar cycles that trigger insect emergence and breeding. Seeds spiral on the wind. Dragonflies hunt in flight paths that follow prey. The landscape cycles through seasons. The technique mirrors the subject: cyanotype chemistry, physical collage, and digital tools stack different ways of seeing the same ecosystem. Limited edition of 500.
