A DESIGNER'S NYC PENTHOUSE

Posted by Simply Framed on Feb 23, 2021

Gabriela Gargano has a flair for creating beautiful spaces. As the founder of her interior design company, Grisoro Studio, Gaby specializes in blending modern minimalism with rich textures and bold art pieces. Her work is now recognized throughout New York for its clean lines and seamless incorporation of vintage furnishings.

When it came to renovating her own triplex penthouse condominium, Gaby knew just how to balance style with sensibility. With a little one on the way, Gaby also had to make sure the apartment was childproofed—without compromising the beauty of the space.

The result was a home with plenty of open areas for play, and curves favored over sharp corners. Natural fibers such as wood and wool were used to create a sense of warmth and earthiness. Beyond the glass doors and oversized windows, the wood terrace offers serenity, while the muted palette instills a sense of peaceful sophistication throughout the entire home.

And the finishing touch: some perfectly chosen custom frames, of course.

Custom framed art helps to finish a home. And when hanging multiple pieces, a thoughtful frame selection helps bring cohesion to the collection. Art credits (LRTB): Charity by RF Alvarez via Uprise Art in our White Gallery Frame. Lithograph from Tuscany, artist unknown. Untitled lithograph by Gerald Giamportone. Original oil on canvas by William McClure. Gaby’s personal wedding photograph in our Black Gallery frame. Antique Estrauscan original prints. Jump by Gabriela Herman via Eye Buy Art. Vase on table by Floris Wubben via The Future Perfect.

We love the unexpected juxtaposition of modern works with a more traditional Tuscan landscape in the eclectic gallery wall.

This oversized print of A Spiral Staircase by Hedrich-Blessing framed in our Black Gallery Deep frame makes a statement in a serene guest bedroom.

The sleek lines of this bathroom create a sense of peace and tranquility, and Helene by A Weyer via Saatchi Art, floated in our (now retired) Luxe Silver Gallery frame, is the perfect addition. Monochrome prints pair well with a silver frame, especially in a minimalist setting.

This high-contrast photograph, Topiary II by Frank Schott via EKTAlux is a perfect match for our Black Gallery Deep frame, an ideal choice for shadowboxing large artworks.
