Who: Justin Irvine, Creative Director behind cult-favorite shoe brand Stubbs & Wootton and avid art collector.
What: Two printed editions of NYC-based fine artist Happy Menocal's whimsical watercolors.
From Justin: "Over my years of working in design and doing creative for Stubbs & Wootton, I was introduced to Happy Menocal, who is known for her romantic and charming whimsicalities. She also turned me on to Simply Framed, and I've been obsessed and working with you all ever since.
I’m a huge fan of antique garden prints, and I found the mix of botanical mushroom vibes in Happy's art to be both obscure and interesting. I like the softness of the imagery against a bold Farrow & Ball Stiffkey Blue. I like the visual play of the masculine and the feminine all bleeding into one.
Since these pieces are part of an ever-growing gallery wall in my room that features several artists' works, I chose clean and natural frames with crisp white mats to tie everything together nicely and show some consistency.
Art is what makes a home. The prints are beautiful, and being surrounded by beautiful things is how I really zen out and decompress."
Love your treasured artworks as much as Justin loves his? Head on over to Simply Framed to get started displaying them like the beauties that they are.
