You may recognize Dara Deshe Segal as the founder of Simply Framed. However, you may not know that on top of being an incredible boss and entrepreneur, Dara is also an amazing mom to her son, Miles, and an Ambassador for heymama, a national group for working moms that is part cool club and part think tank, with members that include mamas who are founders, creatives, artists—and more than 700 CEOs.

As a regular host of heymama meet-ups in Denver, Dara was recently interviewed by the organization and featured on heymama’s site in a profile sponsored by Birdies, the genius shoe brand behind these super stylish flats that are secretly slippers. “If serving cocktails, pre-mix whatever you can and have them out in pitchers. Your time should be spent interacting, not serving, so plan ahead.”
“Serving take-out on a nice platter is one of my favorite moves; I do that all the time! I also love a freshly baked dessert, whether made from scratch or from a mix. During the summer, I often freeze cookies after they are baked and make ice cream sandwiches rolled in rainbow sprinkles, but at a mini size. No one ever says no to a mini ice cream sandwich rolled in sprinkles.”
