What’s better than getting to partner with a fab female artist? How about two fab female artists, plus 34 other women and girls? The Make Your Mark series, currently on display through September 11 at Angel City Brewery in the Downtown L.A. Arts District, features 12 pieces inspired by those female contributors (all non-artists!) along with original pieces by Jackie Leishman and Patrice Dworkin, the super-talented duo otherwise known as The Fourth Artist. And guess who got to custom frame the show?

The show features a total of 32 pieces floated in Simply Framed White Gallery Frames and hanging on the walls of Angel City, a popular venue that partners with Art Share L.A. to promote the city’s art community. The girls and women (ages 4 to 74!) behind the pieces were asked to show, through a combination of text and drawing, their emotional response to the idea of women making their mark in the world. These responses were then reproduced, deconstructed and transformed by The Fourth Artist into a remarkable collection. Patrice’s Resist series and Jackie’s Diptychs round out the show, titled Three Ways To Make It Through The Day. Part of the proceeds go toward charities that support women.

We’re not the only ones smitten with Jackie and Patrice’s collective vision. When Emily Henderson partnered with Sotheby’s to style an Art Deco-inspired room in an historic mansion, she asked the duo to commission an original piece for the space and also borrowed the 12-piece Make Your Mark series to complete the room. The results were, of course, stunning.

Whether hanging in a gallery setting or as the perfect finishing touch to a curated bedroom, The Fourth Artist’s work always makes an impact. Jackie and Patrice are experts at creating custom, emotional designs that are both statement-making and adaptable, and we can’t wait to see where their art turns up next!
