Momentary Glimmer shows a green female ruby-throated hummingbird hovering over the pink crape myrtle blossoms on a black background. This artwork is about the brevity of life and how there is joy for the taking if one only takes time to look for the beauty that is all around us all the time. The vibrant colors on the black background is a nod toward Japanese embroidery and is a result of the original drawing being completed in scratchboard with a sewing needle with colorful inks applied to the exposed white clay surface beneath the black outermost surface.
