I was commissioned to paint the lead Mad Men characters (along with creator Matthew Weiner) as part of a thank you to the show's cast and crew at the end of the final season. The framed image is the original painting before it was scanned, edited, and printed. I've had the piece for a couple years now, and it is hanging in my office as it's one of my favorite projects I've ever worked on. I also like to look up at illustrated Jon Hamm whenever I get stressed. ;)
This piece is special to me because Mad Men is one of my favorite shows, so it was a huge honor to be asked to paint these characters. I spent a lot of time thinking about all of the details I would include, such as painting each of the women in the clothes they wore during some of their most iconic scenes.
