As we spring into summer, we find ourselves craving all things coastal. And when it comes to beachy, breezy vibes, Rebecca Atwood is queen. The Brooklyn-based designer and artist is known for quality, ethically-made textiles and homegoods that beautifully pay homage to her Cape Cod roots. Take a tour through her online shop and the soft hues, rhythmic patterns and soothing shades of blue will have you planning a trip to the beach (even if it’s wishful thinking!)
Who: Rebecca Atwood, founder of Rebecca Atwood Designs. From her website: “I believe that how you get to a finished product is just as important as the final design. I don’t believe in perfection, but I do ask myself, ‘How can I do things better?’ frequently. And I like to think that our process is part of the reason you can feel truly good about bringing our pieces into your home.”
What: Rebecca’s original gouache and watercolor piece ‘Beach Fence Stripe’, 8”x10”, was floated and shadowboxed in our Gallery Deep Natural Frame.
From Rebecca: “This striped gouache painting was inspired by the patterning of a beach fence and the shadows it cast on the sand. I wanted to have it custom framed because it makes me happy, thinking about the beach in my hometown––one of my favorite spots. I chose Simply Frame’s Gallery Deep Natural Frame because I wanted something simple but that would still make a statement. The shadowbox really works to highlight the piece, and the light wood color is the perfect complement to the peachy sand color in the painting.”
We’ve got to admit: Custom framing Rebecca’s original artwork in our Gallery Deep Natural Frame was the epitome of cool––so cool that it might just hold us over till our next swim in the surf.
Consider custom framing your own original artwork like Rebecca did, and give those sentimental sketches and paintings the glory they deserve. To get started, head to our Frame Builder, select the artwork type and size, and we’ll take it from there.
