Our Favorite Large Art Frames

Posted by Greta Braddock on Apr 04, 2018

Living large is never a bad thing. The same goes for your artwork. Lately, we've spotted interior trendsetters custom framing one bold statement-making piece in a large art frame for a room instead of coordinating a gallery wall or hanging an array of smaller artworks. (Don't get us wrong. We'll always love a good gallery wall!)

So, we can't say we were surprised when style guru Emily Henderson did a write-up on her favorite affordable large-scale artwork and featured Simply Framed as a go-to resource for large art frames. We love how Emily laid out options for her readers to source large-scale art for a steal and then told them how to save on printing framing costs by using our online custom framing service and our easy Print & Frame platform.

LA photographers Jesse and Jimmy Marble custom framed one larger-than-life image that captured the moment—in this case, a never-to-be-forgotten balloon drop after they said "I do." Photograph by Max Wanger framed in our Natural Gallery Wide Frame. Interior photograph by The Selby.

Looking to source a large artwork at a great price? Custom framed maps invite closer examination and add a modern, graphic element to any interior. Plus, they make beautiful and sentimental gifts. Photo by @luciavalentin and Natural Gallery Wide Frame by us.

We're happy to say our options for large art frames go higher than any of our online competitors. At Simply Framed, we print and custom frame artwork up to 40x60". (And yes, shipping on pieces that size is free, as always.) Just be sure to filter your search to large art frames that go up to 40x60, as not all frames are built to handle such massive proportions. (Gallery Wide and Gallery Deep were created specifically to accommodate large artwork.)

Our Canvas Float Frames go all the way up to 40x60". (Sidenote: They're now available in Natural, 100% hardwood maple.) We printed and framed this floral print from Jenny's Print Shop in our Black Canvas Float Frame for blogger Chloe MacKintosh of Boxwood Avenue's country cottage.

Victoria Smith of sfgirlbybay selected our Gallery Wide Frame in Natural for this black and white photograph by Laure Joliet.

For the frame jobs that require more than just rolling up your sleeves—thank goodness for Hedley & Bennett's awesome aprons. This large art frame featuring a photograph by Team Woodnote sits pretty in their Cali showroom.

All creatures great and small; all frames...great. Highland Cow No. 1 by Kingdom by Randal Ford is a major presence in our White Gallery Wide Frame.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a large art frame for that blow-up of your favorite family photo...an impactful vintage textile you brought back from abroad...that colorful canvas you painted way back when...call on us. And shout out to the team at Emily Henderson for including us in their write-up.

We love the minimalist vibe of Denise Crew's Big Magic in our Gallery Wide Frame in Natural, chosen by Natalie Myers of Veneer Designs for her minimal and modern kitchen renovation.

Whatever custom framing project you get started with us...it's gonna be big!
